Why Pro Putt?

Practice Makes Putts

Hey There,

My Name is Jeff Moore, PDGA#41147. I am what you call a Disc Golf retread. I started playing 20 years ago and played about 3-4 years and then basicly quit for about 15 years and started back when my nephew saw my discs and wanted to play.

Since then I play whenever I get the chance and sometimes when I shouldn’t. Yes, Even though my wife says I am not addicted I probably fall into that catagory.

Pro Putt came about because I had no way to gather statistics on the most important part of my game. I had the PDGA to track tounament rounds and give me a rating but I had no way to see a history of my putting improvement over time. At first I kept A record of “Dots and Flushes” in the notes on my iphone but it was very slow and very cumbersom to enter the data and calculate my percentages. So eventuly it occured to me to get somebody to write an App for that. First it was just going to be for myself. Then it became for myself and a few friends. Then it became “Hey, why not share it with other disc golf addicts and maybe it will pay for some of my disc golf addiction”. So here we are.

I have no aspirations of winning a World Championship. But I do want to improve my game. I make 120-180 putts in my routine and it takes less than 30 min.  My goal is to practice 3-4 times a week. Sometimes I make it sometimes I don’t. Use with caution, Results may vary.

The next step is to sponsor some Am’s and Pros and have a team consisting of the best putters in the country. If you have read everything to this point I am glad I was able to keep your attention. Since you probably have the Pro Putt App on your phone take the time login to our web site from the settings page, this will automatically  upload your sessions. We will not share your statistics with anyone but we will use them to see how you use the app and make improvements. Eventually we will also use those statistics to find the best amature and professional putters in the county and sponsor them in thier disc golf careers.
